Competent Person or Contractor

What is the definition of a Competent Person or Contractor?

A competent person in construction is generally defined as one who has sufficient training, experience and knowledge of Health & Safety practices to enable him or her to comply with appropriate legislation.

All users of Mosaic are required to accept their appropriate responsibilities on joining a project. The wording in the document, that they are required to confirm acceptance of, contains specific language stating they must have the skills, knowledge, experience (SKATE) and, where relevant, organisational capability to carry out this work.

The acceptance of the Duties & Responsibilities is recorded on the Directory as seen below.
